Communications and Events Coordinator
ARC Foundation is looking to fill a 30 hours/week 9-week contract position. This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position. Applicants must be between the ages of 15-30. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the SOGI 123 Communications and Events Coordinator will focus on communications and events for ARC Foundation.
Position Type: 9-week contract position at 30 hours/week, ideally starting June 15, 2026
Location: ARC Foundation Office, Vancouver, BC or reporting remotely from elsewhere in Canada
Reports to: Communications Manager
Compensation Range: $22 – $27.85 per hour

ABOUT ARC FOUNDATION
ARC Foundation was founded in 2007 to build Awareness, Respect and Capacity through education. ARC Foundation’s vision is a world where children and youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities live authentic lives. ARC Foundation is the registered charity behind SOGI 123, an inclusive education initiative that equips educators with tools and resources for supporting 2SLGBTQ+ students and creating safer and more inclusive school environments for all students. ARC facilitates the delivery of SOGI 123 in BC, Alberta, the Yukon, and Atlantic Canada, with online resources available to educators in other regions.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Communications and Events Coordinator will support the implementation of key ARC Foundation projects as assigned by ARC’s Communications Manager. This is an operational role that will focus on supporting the delivery of SOGI 123, a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI)-inclusive education initiative. The Communications and Events Coordinator will work closely with the communications and development team, as well as the broader ARC Foundation national team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Support ARC Foundation communications including:
ARC Foundation and SOGI 123 brand application, ensuring consistency in both internal and external communication formats
Assist with content for ARC Foundation and SOGI 123 websites and communications campaigns
Support fund development efforts, including assisting with donor communications and updating fundraising materials, as needed
Support social media launch through creating and posting content, monitoring account activity, and measuring KPIs
Support event planning and coordination including:
Assist with pre- and post-event communications with ARC team members, volunteers, vendors and sponsors
Event day logistics such as set up, liaising with vendors, coordinating volunteers, supporting guest experience, clean up, etc.
Explore new community partners and relevant available research to support organizational goals.
Carry out project administration duties, including scheduling meetings and taking meeting notes.
Maintain a project plan and monitor progress of agreed objectives. Communicate with colleagues and collaborators to report on project progress.
Attend presentations and meetings as support, as required.
Support the team and/or lead with additional administrative tasks, projects, initiatives, or other duties as they arise.
WHO YOU ARE
Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 to satisfy Canada Summer Jobs funding requirements
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Proven ability to maintain a high level of competence and confidentiality handling sensitive information and materials
Comfortable using MS Office such as Teams, OneNote, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, as well as Apple products and software.
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Mailchimp and/or WordPress as an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach with ability to build strong working relationships with team members
Ability to work remotely, as needed
An interest in creating systemic change to support students of all sexual orientations and gender identities; preference may be given to those with lived experience within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
