ARC Foundation Welcomes Elizabeth Rush to Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, B.C. — ARC Foundation (ARC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Rush to its Board of Directors. This new appointment brings the total number of Directors to eight, each of whom brings a unique set of experiences and expertise to the leadership of ARC Foundation.

“As ARC Foundation and SOGI 1 2 3 continue to expand, it is essential that our Board of Directors also grows and evolves to help shape the strategic direction of this organization and its work,” stated Scott Graham, Board Chair of ARC Foundation. “We’re thrilled to welcome Elizabeth as our newest Director and are appreciative of their commitment to creating safer and more inclusive learning environments for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.”

Elizabeth is a public high school teacher, community translator, language justice activist, and has served as a SOGI Lead to support SOGI-inclusive education in their school. Elizabeth works with students within B.C.'s francophone minority community to counter stigmatization and foster creative agency among 2SLGBTQIA+ students. They are passionate about linguistic and visual innovation as forms of resistance to colonization, are a member of the Diversity, Decolonization, and the French Curriculum Collective, and work in the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, British Columbia’s French-language school board for all French schools located in the province.

“SOGI 1 2 3 is growing into new regions, and with the support of funding from the Canadian government, we’re also excited to be designing and piloting delivery of SOGI 1 2 3 in French,” noted Reg Krake, Executive Director of ARC Foundation. “This is why it’s an especially exciting time to have Elizabeth join ARC’s Board of Directors, and the experience they bring as a teacher within B.C.’s French-language school community.”

ARC’s volunteer Board of Directors provides counsel, guidance and operational, financial and strategic oversight to the organization.
