Every young person deserves an education that supports them to thrive in life, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity.
That’s what parents and educators want – schools that protect students, teach them about the world, and support them to learn and grow.
By making sure that youth feel safe and welcomed when they go to school, we reduce the harmful impacts of bullying, social exclusion, and discrimination – so that all students can reach their full potential.
Together, we’re calling for respect in every school.

Join parents, teachers, and allies across Canada in standing up for respect, safety, and inclusion in schools.
I believe that every young person deserves an education that supports them to thrive in life.
Education that embraces differences in sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) is education that supports all young people to learn – about themselves, their families, and the world around them.
I support SOGI-inclusive education because safe, thriving communities start when our differences are respected and celebrated.
About This Campaign
Right now, certain politicians in Canada are stoking fears among parents about what our children are learning at school, and putting their desire for political power over our children’s education.
They’re trying to exploit a lack of familiarity with trans people to stop students from learning about different identities, when youth should be getting a high quality education that builds empathy and prepares them for life.
We won’t fall for these tactics. Education that embraces differences in sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) is education that supports all young people to learn – about themselves, their families, and the world around them.
By joining together as parents, educators, and supporters of youth, we can ensure that all students feel welcome at school, and receive an education that sets them up to succeed.
